Job summary

Touro University California’s Health Sciences library seeks a Health Science, Outreach & Instruction Librarian to provide instruction, reference and collection development across programs in the College of Osteopathic Medicine and College of Health Sciences’ School of Nursing. The role also coordinates library programs and serves as a liaison to multiple departments and community programs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library/information science program is required.
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated strong service orientation and flexibility.

• Knowledge of current librarianship developments and web technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, reference, collection development, and research support to COM, SON, and related programs.
• Coordinate and arrange library programs and events including HCOP Academy and Student Services.
• Back-up to Access Services Librarian for course reserves and textbook listing.
• Assist in orientations and online aids, and respond to special programs and community events.
• Maintain currency through professional development and service on committees and meetings.
• Represent the library in campus and faculty activities.
