Job summary

Edgecombe County Public Schools seeks a CTE Health Sciences Teacher to join the Health Education pathway. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Education and a valid North Carolina teaching certificate, with licensure and strong content knowledge.

The teacher will plan a program of study aligned to state guidelines and create a conducive classroom environment for students. Reporting to the Principal, the position carries a 10-month term with the NC Teacher Salary Schedule plus a local supplement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education with a valid NC teaching certificate.
• Eligibility for North Carolina licensure in health education.
• Strong content knowledge and ability to plan and assess.

Responsibilities

• Follow Edgecombe County Public Schools policies and state/federal regulations.
• Plan a program of study meeting student needs within guidelines.
• Create a conducive classroom environment for learning.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives.
• Employ appropriate instructional methods and materials.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as required.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
• Assist administration with policies and classroom rules.
• Plan and supervise teacher assistants and evaluate performance.
• Maintain professional competence and contribute to school vision.
• Attend staff meetings and perform related duties as assigned.
