A health sciences institution in California is seeking a clinical faculty member at the Assistant Professor level specializing in Sleep Medicine. The role involves providing clinical care for sleep disorders and mentoring medical students. Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and be board certified or eligible in Sleep Medicine. Salary range: Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation depending on specialty can range from $371,095-$400,771. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
The Division of Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Medicine is recruiting for a clinical faculty member at the level of Assistant Professor or above, in the Health Sciences Clinical Series. This position may involve clinical and academic activities at either UCI Orange or Newport locations, as well as UCI community clinics including Fountain Valley, Placentia Linda and Laguna.
Candidates must have an MD or DO degree. They must have Board certification or eligibility in Sleep Medicine and eligibility to obtain an active medical practice license in the State of California.
The Sleep Medicine Faculty Member will provide comprehensive clinical care for patients with a variety of sleep disorders, including diagnosis, management, and interpretation of sleep studies. There may be opportunities to provide care on other services including the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Pulmonary Consultation Service. They will actively participate in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows through lectures, case discussions, and supervision in both clinical and educational settings. The faculty member will engage in scholarly activities, including conducting and publishing research, presenting at conferences, and seeking funding to support innovative projects. Additionally, they will contribute to the development and expansion of the sleep medicine program by implementing quality improvement initiatives and enhancing access to care through telemedicine and outreach programs.
