Position overview

Salary range:
Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation depending on specialty can range from $375,000-$500,000. The posted UC salary scales set the base pay determined by rank and step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series - Pain


The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care at the University of California, Irvine anticipates openings for pain medicine physicians. These openings will be at the level of Assistant Professor or above, depending upon the candidate's qualifications and will be in the Health Sciences Clinical Series (non-tenure track). Fellowship trained or equivalent experience preferred.


Clinicians interested in pursuing an academic medicine career in the Anesthesia subspecialty of Pain Medicine will be given the opportunity to grow in a dynamic department. The Division of Pain Medicine is a nationally-awarded division for quality, safety, and research. Ample opportunities exist for scholarly effort and teaching through an ACGME approved Pain Medicine Fellowship.


Candidates must be board-eligible in Anesthesiology, fellowship trained in Pain Medicine, in progress for certification by the ABA in pain management, and in good standing to acquire license to practice in the state of California.
