Michigan Milk Producers Association is seeking a Health & Safety Supervisor to oversee safety and occupational health programs at our Canton facility. You will lead safety initiatives, ensure OSHA and company compliance, and partner with operations leadership to prevent incidents and protect employee well-being.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, visible leader in a manufacturing setting with a commitment to continuous safety improvement and strong training skills.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of experience in occupational safety in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Ability to influence and coach employees and leaders at all levels.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to production areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead all safety and health programs for the facility.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain accurate safety records, reporting, and documentation.
• Lead or support incident investigations using root cause analysis methodologies.
• Develop and deliver safety training for employees, supervisors, and contractors.
• Partner with plant leadership to integrate safety into daily operations and decision-making.
• Drive behavior-based safety programs and employee engagement initiatives.
• Oversee emergency response planning and drills.
• Support regulatory inspections and external audits.
• Track safety metrics and report trends to leadership.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to reduce incidents and hazards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all safety and health programs for the facility

• Professional certification such as CSP, ASP, OHST, or similar
• Experience in food manufacturing, heavy industry, or union environments
