Freeport-McMoRan in Green Valley, AZ is seeking a Health and Safety Lead to direct safety programs, lead audits, and train staff across divisions. The role requires strong leadership and experience in health and safety, with potential interaction with inspectors and workers’ compensation processes.

Qualifications

• Leading personnel and/or projects in health and safety roles.
• High School diploma or GED with 5+ years in Health & Safety or related field.
• Associate’s degree with 3+ years in Health & Safety or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree with 1+ year in Health & Safety or related field.

Responsabilités

• Directs employee engagement activities such as risk assessments and raising general safety awareness to employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
• Leads safety audits and inspects facilities to ensure safe working environment and regulatory compliance.
• Manages Health and Safety functions or projects.
• Trains staff from multiple divisions in safety procedures and annual refresher training.
• Inspects and evaluates work in progress and directs remedial action as needed.
• Participates on cross-function teams for incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Accompanies MSHA/OSHA/State Mine Inspectors and documents field activities.
• Conducts health and safety orientations, site visits and literature distribution to promote policies.
• May administer workers’ compensation programs and support loss prevention initiatives.
• Perform other duties as required.
