Job summary

Omya is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to support a safe and healthy work environment at the Superior, AZ operation. You will promote accident prevention, regulatory compliance, employee training, and continuous safety performance improvement.

You will partner with staff, supervisors, and management to ensure OSHA/MSHA compliance and foster a strong safety-first culture across the site. Minimum 2 years in H&S and relevant degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in OH&S or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a health and safety role.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing, mining, aggregates, construction, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and field observations to identify hazards and at-risk behaviors.
• Promote OSHA/MSHA compliance and company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver safety training and orientations for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and property damage events; perform root cause analyses.
• Prepare thorough investigation reports and maintain documentation.
• Monitor safety metrics and recommend improvements and corrective actions.
