Job summary

Public Service Electric & Gas Co. (PSEG) is seeking a Safety Program leader to establish and maintain accountability for industrial health and safety across PSE&G Electric Operations locations.

This role drives OSHA-compliant programs, conducts field audits, delivers training, investigates incidents, and develops hazard controls while coordinating with management, labor, and safety councils. The position requires varying shifts including emergencies, storms, and on-call, with day-one benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in OSH, engineering or related field with 5+ years in safety roles.
• Without a degree, 9 years of utility/construction safety experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; OSHA/standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Implements safety and health programs under the H&S Program Manager.
• Provides oversight to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Lead safety and health management for management and bargaining units.
• Perform field audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Deliver health and safety training meeting OSHA requirements.
• Develop hazard control methods and procedures.
• Communicate to maintain high safety awareness and reduce hazards.
• Support accident investigations and root-cause reporting.
• Review procedures to improve safety operations.
• Drive year-over-year safety performance improvements.
