Job summary

Valeo seeks a HSE Trainee/Apprentice at the Site HSE - J location to support Health, Safety and Environmental programs. The role is a 12-month, full-time trainee/internship position that offers hands-on experience in safety compliance and risk management.

The candidate will contribute to establishing and enforcing EHS procedures and participate in audits and regulatory updates, with a focus on continuous improvement and corporate safety culture.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in environmental or occupational safety.
• Or April/May 2026 graduate in that field.

Responsibilities

• Identify, establish and implement Valeo Group EHS requirements.
• Ensure safety equipment is in compliance with requirements.
• Carry out risk analyses and monitor regulatory surveys.
• Help establish the site Health, Safety, Security and Environment procedures and oversee their application.
• Carry out inspections and internal audits, make recommendations and specify actions for implementation.
• Assist in actions relating to non-compliance revealed by inspections and audits, considering investments.
• Be aware of developments in legislation.
• Update and complete Safety Data Sheets, plus ergonomic and PPE assessments.
• Review and update Safety and Environmental work instructions.

This position is a 1 year (12 month), 32-40 hours per week position

What You Will Do

• You will ensure that all requirements of Valeo Group are identified, established and implemented
• You will check that safety and security equipment are in compliance with requirements
• You will carry out risk analysis and monitor regulatory survey
• You will help establish the site "Health, Safety, Security and Environment" operation procedures and oversee their application
• You will carry out inspections and internal audits, make recommendations and specify corresponding actions as well as the responsibility for implementing it
• You will assist in implementing and monitoring action relating to the handling of any non-compliance revealed by the inspections, internal audits and external audits, taking the necessary investments into account
• Be aware of developments in the legislation.
• You will update and complete Safety Data sheets, plus ergonomic and PPE assessments
• You will review and update Safety and Environmental work instructions

What You Should Have

You should be a current student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in an environmental or occupational safety related field OR be an April/May 2026 graduate of one of those programs

You preferably have completed classes in equipment lockout/tagout, chemical safety, and OSHA/EPA
