ENERCON is hiring a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor to play a key role within our team. Reporting to the HSE Director, you will be responsible for supporting internal teams in the application of health, safety, and environmental standards and regulations while ensuring the adoption of industry best practices in the wind energy sector.

Your strategic role will involve promoting a proactive safety culture and driving continuous improvement through the implementation of programs, policies, and prevention initiatives on project sites. You will work closely with field teams to ensure compliance and reinforce safety practices.

The selected candidate will join a professional, dedicated, and multidisciplinary team, providing internal clients with expert guidance on occupational health and safety. This role requires up to 50% travel across Canada.


Responsibilities:

  • Advise internal teams on programs and initiatives supporting our safety excellence strategy and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure internal procedures comply with or exceed legal and regulatory requirements in health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Conduct regular support visits, inspections, and audits at facilities and project sites.
  • Investigate incidents, develop prevention plans, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide expertise on personal protective equipment (PPE) and collaborate with the procurement department.
  • Support the commercial team during client meetings.
  • Represent ENERCON in professional associations and with government agencies.
  • Prepare statistical reports, analyze HSE results, and track performance indicators.
  • Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans for operations.
  • Manage accident claims, investigations, and detailed reporting.
  • Create and implement HSE policies, programs, and procedures tailored to organizational needs.
  • Coach site managers, project leaders, and technicians.
  • Organize training sessions and safety-focused meetings with technical and management teams.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

Your profile:

  • University degree or certification in health, safety, or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience in HSE management within industrial maintenance or construction environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HSE laws and regulations across Canadian provinces.
  • Expertise in OHS programs, including electrical safety, lockout/tagout, working at heights, ergonomics, confined spaces, and WHMIS.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in French and English.
  • Ability to lead meetings and collaborate with remote teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Team-oriented, positive attitude, and ability to influence others.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% across Canada and occasionally to ENERCON’s headquarters in Germany.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • ASP Construction certification is an asset
