Job summary

Albemarle Netherlands BV is seeking a Health, Safety, and Environment Site Lead for its Baton Rouge Research and Technology Lab. The role provides comprehensive leadership for the Lab Safety Program, interfaces with contributors, managers, and site leadership, and drives continuous improvement in safety performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Public Health or related technical discipline.
• Experience supervising and maintaining Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance Systems.
• Certified Safety Professional.
• Experience facilitating Root Cause Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply technical knowledge of Albemarle’s HS&E policies and procedures.
• Lead policy updates, creation, and implementation.
• Document HS&E expectations, outcomes and metrics.
• Lead planning and execution of Risk Assessments and Laboratory Safety Audits.
• Investigate Research and Technology incidents and observations.
• Utilize SAP, SharePoint, and MS Office for documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Louisiana state and US federal regulations.
• Coordinate with Site HS&E Manager and lead site HS&E committees.
