Job summary

LyondellBasell is seeking a Health & Safety Engineer Co-op/Intern to gain hands-on experience within a safety-driven global company. You will support incident prevention, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across multiple HSE disciplines.

You will work with mentors to develop practical safety solutions, participate in field evaluations, and contribute to our Goal Zero initiative while pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection, Occupational Safety, or an equivalent degree from an accredited university.
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Support an incident-free work environment by prioritizing the safety and well-being of individuals.
• Uphold safety and health as integral to everyday operations.
• Foster a Goal Zero workplace through collaboration and innovation.
• Provide proactive, sustainable solutions based on proven Occupational Health, Safety, and Loss Prevention strategies.
• Promote and maintain process safety, risk control, and verify the effectiveness of control measures through field and program evaluations.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection, Occupational Safety, or equivalent

GPA 3.0 or greater
