Overview:

Are you passionate about workplace safety and environmental compliance? Join our team as a Health and Safety Coordinator and help drive a culture of safety at a leading mining operation located in scenic northern New York. Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and company safety procedures across surface and underground mining operations
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Lead and deliver effective safety training and education programs for all staff
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, site inspections, and accident investigations
  • Accompany MSHA inspectors during quarterly inspections and other visits
  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventative safety measures
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local H&S regulations
  • Schedule annual employee physicals and hearing tests

  • Maintain detailed and organized records of training, inspections, audits, and incidents
  • Support weekly and monthly H&S reporting requirements

  • Collaborate across all departments to foster a strong safety-first culture
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with workplace safety, risk mitigation, and compliance with MSHA regulations
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other tools for reporting, documentation, and communication
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry experience in mining or heavy industrial environments

  • MSHA Trainer Certification (a strong plus)
