Job summary

Compliance Management International (CMI) is seeking a regional Health & Safety Consultant/Trainer to join our Greater Philadelphia team. This hands-on, client-facing role delivers OSHA training, conducts facility assessments, and helps strengthen written safety programs.

You’ll work regionally in SE Pennsylvania and New Jersey, travel up to 40%, and partner with clients across industries to improve safety performance while staying compliant.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of occupational health and safety experience, particularly in training, hazard identification, compliance, or safety program development.
• Experience delivering safety training to adult learners.
• Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements.
• Ability to identify workplace hazards and recommend practical corrective actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a consulting team.

Health & Safety Consultant / Trainer

Greater Philadelphia Region | Hybrid + Client-Facing | Full-Time

Primary service area: Southeastern Pennsylvania & New Jersey

Are you an experienced safety professional who enjoys working with people, solving real-world safety challenges, and delivering training that makes a difference? We’re looking for a Regional Health & Safety Consultant / Trainer to join our team. This is a hands-on, client-facing role for a safety professional who enjoys variety—one day you may deliver OSHA training, another day conduct a facility assessment, and another helping a client strengthen a written safety program.

You’ll have the opportunity to work independently while being part of an experienced consulting team that helps organizations protect employees, improve safety performance, and navigate OSHA requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver engaging instructor-led and virtual safety training for client organizations.
• Conduct workplace safety assessments, inspections, and hazard evaluations.
• Help clients develop and improve practical, compliant safety programs.
• Prepare professional reports that clearly identify findings, corrective actions, and recommendations.
• Serve as a trusted safety resource for clients across a variety of industries.
• Manage your client assignments, training schedules, reports, and project deliverables.
• Develop customized training and safety solutions based on client operations and workplace hazards.

What We’re Looking For

• We’re looking for someone who combines technical safety knowledge with strong communication and client-service skills.
• A strong candidate will have:
• Approximately 5+ years of occupational health and safety experience, particularly in training, hazard identification, compliance, or safety program development.
• Experience delivering safety training to adult learners.
• Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements.
• The ability to identify workplace hazards and recommend practical corrective actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence working directly with clients, supervisors, managers, and employees.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating with a consulting team.
• A professional, responsive, customer-focused approach.

Preferred Credentials

The following are valuable, but not all are required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related field
• OSHA 501 – Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for General Industry
• CSP, ASP, CHST, CSHO, or similar safety credential

Additional OSHA, BCSP, NFPA, industrial hygiene, environmental, or safety training credentials are a plus.

Travel & Work Environment

• This position is based in the Greater Philadelphia region, with client work primarily throughout southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
• Regional travel is an important part of the position. Most travel is within driving distance, with occasional overnight travel or travel to other states based on client needs.
• Candidates should be comfortable:
• Traveling regionally up to approximately 40%
• Driving to client locations
• Working in manufacturing, industrial, construction, warehouse, and other workplace environments
• Standing and walking for extended periods while conducting training or assessments
• Carrying training materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 30 lbs.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
