Role Overview

Safety Inspector – Electrical Construction (Santa Clara, CA)

Location: On-site in Santa Clara, CA

Project Duration: September 2025 – December 2027

Schedule: 5–6 days/week, 8-10 hours/day

Employment Type: Full-time, 2-year Project (End of 2027)

Pay Rate:$65-$85/hr Plus overtime

Join a dynamic team on a high-profile Brownfield Live High Voltage Substation project located adjacent to the San Francisco 49ers Football Stadium in Santa Clara, just north of San Jose. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a major infrastructure initiative while advancing your career in a collaborative and safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily visual inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Champion on-site safety culture and promote best practices across all teams.
  • Identify and report non-conformance issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare and submit clear, concise daily inspection reports in Word and PDF formats.
  • Build strong working relationships with general contractor personnel to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Collaborate closely with the on-site Construction Manager to confirm safety procedures and address any concerns.
  • Communicate safety and environmental issues effectively to project leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Health, Safety, and Environmental Lead or Manager.
  • Proven experience in live high-voltage substation environments and electrical safety protocols, including NFPA 70E.
  • Preferred certifications:
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
  • Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) or Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC)
  • Completion of Cal/OSHA 30-Hour training course.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Energy Isolation Certification (asset).
  • Excavation and Trenching Competent Person Safety Certification (asset).
  • Residency in or near Santa Clara/San Jose, CA strongly preferred.

This is a Contract position based out of Santa Clara, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $85.00/hr.
