Job summary

Millennium Health and Fitness, Inc. is seeking a Health Promotion Program Lead to oversee the installation health initiatives, conduct screenings and fitness education. You will supervise staff, coordinate activities, track outcomes and ensure programs meet client needs on the Edwards AFB site.

The role requires experience in health promotion, program management, and certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid. Travel for mobile events may be involved, with full-time hours and a base-level compensation

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years’ experience working with a Health Promotion Program.
  • One (1) year management experience of a Health Promotion Program.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications.
  • May require additional certification based on customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as site lead, planning and coordinating implementation of health promotion activities.
  • Conduct wellness screenings, educational classes, incentive programs, and health fairs.
  • Perform finger sticks and biometric measurements (height, weight, BMI, BP).
  • Educate participants on health awareness and lifestyle modification.
  • Provide orientation and training to new staff and communicate policy changes.
  • Ensure staffing aligns with workload and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Evaluate programs and provide progress reports.
  • Maintain up-to-date health education materials and secure supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Support mobile worksite events as applicable.

Specific Duties and Tasks
  • Serves as the site lead, developing, planning and coordinating implementation of all activities of the health promotion program at the installation level.
  • Conduct wellness screenings, educational classes, incentive programs, and health fairs.
  • Perform services such as finger sticks and other biometric measurements including height, weight, BMI/body composition, and blood pressure.
  • Educate participants on health awareness and lifestyle modification.
  • Provide orientation and training to new staff and communicate on new policies or changes in procedures.
  • Ensure that programs are staffed according to the scope of work and that work schedules are modified to meet fluctuating workloads.
  • Evaluate programs and provide progress reports.
  • Maintain current knowledge of health promotion topics to keep health education program material current, and coordinate and/or ensure supplies, equipment, and files are maintained in properly secured storage.
  • Provide excellent written and oral communication skills when working with internal and external customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the contractor PM.
  • Support mobile worksite events as applicable.
Minimum Recommended Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Public Health, Exercise Physiology, Health Education or related field.
  • Three (3) years’ experience working with a Health Promotion Program.
  • One (1) year management experience of a Health Promotion Program and at least one (1) year supervisory experience if the specific position tasks for a supervisory role.
  • Must possess current CPR/AED/first aid certifications.
  • May require or need to obtain an additional certification based on specific customer needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NASM Wellness Coach Certification
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)
