Job summary

Constellation Energy Corp. seeks a Radiological Control Area technician to oversee access and egress, monitor radiation and contamination, and ensure compliance with safety protocols at radiologically controlled areas.

You will calibrate equipment, provide coverage during shifts, train staff, and maintain dosimetry records while supporting emergency response and procedure updates. The role requires a high school diploma, an associates in health physics or related field, or equivalent experience,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or educational equivalent.
• AND one of the following: Associates degree in Radiation Protection, Health Physics or related field OR High School Diploma and 2 years professional work experience in Radiation Protection, Health Physics or equivalent OR 6 years Navy Nuclear experience, including ELT qualifications OR Previous experience in Radiation Protection at commercial nuclear power plants and passed the NUF or equivalent.
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing (TECH)
• Ability to work different shifts
• Ability to receive unescorted Nuclear access
• Excellent communication, teamwork and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Measure radiation and contamination levels and record radiological data.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain radiation protection equipment.
• Provide radiological support and oversight through briefings and surveys/job coverage for normal and emergency situations.
• Provide training and oversight to other personnel and leads work crews.
• Provide radiological planning and scheduling support including ACR/Work Order and Radiation Work Permit processing and scheduling activities.
• Monitor and maintain records of personnel exposure to radiation.
• Process personnel dosimetry including issuance and return.
• Collect data, run tests, and prepare reports.
• Perform Corrective Action Program duties including dispositions and actions.
• Review and provide input for procedure development and revision.
• Perform Radioactive Material processing, packaging, shipment and transfers including radiological surveys/job coverage, and associated equipment setup, teardown and movements.
• Perform decon, housekeeping, painting, hydrolasing, laundry, shielding activities, and other duties as assigned by the Company.
• Performs emergency response duties as assigned.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or educational equivalent
• AND ONE of the following:
• Associates degree in Radiation Protection, Health Physics or related field OR
• High School Diploma and 2 years professional work experience in Radiation Protection, Health Physics or equivalent OR
• 6 years Navy Nuclear experience, including Engineering Lab Technician (ELT) qualifications OR
• Previous experience in Radiation Protection at commercial nuclear power plants and passed the NUF (North Eastern Fundamentals Exam) or equivalent
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing (TECH)
• Ability to work different shifts
• Ability to receive unescorted Nuclear access
• Excellent communication, teamwork and organizational skills

Starting hourly pay rate is $43.71/hr. (non-negotiable)
