Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering from an accredited college.
• Knowledge of health physics and radiation safety programs and NRC/OSHA regulatory alignment.
• Level III: typically five years of health physics experience.
• Level IV: typically ten years of health physics experience.
• Experience developing procedures to implement regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop radiation protection practices and ALARA program requirements.
• Establish a radiation safety program to ensure regulatory compliance (NRC/OSHA).
• Evaluate radiological health hazards and remediation strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and provide progress updates on projects.
• Provide technical guidance on problems of increasing scope and complexity.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and sketches for defined problems.
• Conduct radiological surveys, inspections, and audits to ensure safety compliance.
• Develop/train Health Physics Technicians and deliver radiation safety training.
• Support emergency response activities when needed.
