Job summary

TGC Talent is seeking an energetic Radiological Control role in Knoxville to support the site’s Radiation Protection Program. You will perform hands-on radiological monitoring, train radiation workers, and ensure safe work practices across shifts.

This non-exempt position involves calibrating instruments, maintaining records, and complying with regulatory requirements while offering opportunities to advance through Health Physics Technician qualifications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience working with radioactive material.
• Willingness to complete Health Physics Technician qualification within 6 months and Senior Health Physics Technician qualification within 18 months.
• Ability to work shift schedules.

Responsibilities

• Conduct radiological surveys, including radiation, contamination, airborne, and environmental monitoring.
• Implement and support Radiation Work Permits.
• Observe and coach radiation workers on safe work practices.
• Deliver on-the-job training for radiation workers.

About the Role

This non-exempt position supports the site’s Radiological Control Program. You’ll do hands-on radiological monitoring and provide training and oversight for radiation workers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of hands-on experience working with radioactive material (low-level waste experience welcome)
• Ability to work shift schedules
• Willingness to complete the company’s Health Physics Technician qualification within 6 months and Senior Health Physics Technician qualification within 18 months

Compensation

• Junior: $26.00 to $35.87/hr
• Senior: $31.00 to $57.79/hr
• Pay depends on experience
