Qualifications

• New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, CE, or CEAS as deemed necessary by the NJ Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Plans a program of study meeting individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
• Evaluates student progress and prepares progress reports.
• Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic communications skills in alignment with district regulations.
• Provides individual, small, and/or large group instruction as appropriate to adapt curriculum.
• Maintains standards of pupil behavior to ensure an orderly environment.
• Selects and requisitions books and instructional materials; maintains inventory records.
• Develops instructional plans and organizes class time for a balanced program.
• Participates in in-service education and professional growth activities.
• Supervises out-of-class activities during the working day as required.
• Coordinates work of aides and paraprofessionals.
• Identifies pupil needs and collaborates with staff to solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
• Communicates with parents and pupil personnel staff on pupil progress.

Education

Certificate of Eligibility (CE) / CEAS as deemed necessary by NJDOE certs and titles
