Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and valid Georgia teaching certificate.
• Ability to plan lessons and use RCSS curriculum and technology.
• Strong communication and collaboration with staff, parents, and community.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests and abilities of individuals to ensure Success for Every Student.
• Reports to work on time and is prepared for all classes and duty assignments.
• Creates a classroom environment that provides student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives.
• Provides an instructional program to meet the needs of all students including students with disabilities.
• Prepares lesson plans and other documentation as required by principal or his/her designee.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons.
• Establishes learning objectives consistent with appraisal of student needs and RCSS curriculum framework.
• Plans for and utilizes instructional methods, resources and evaluation techniques to motivate each student.
• Assesses learning and behavioral needs of students and supports IEPs for Students with Disabilities including co‑teaching as needed.
• Maintains safety for students, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintains records and follows RCSS policies.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and classroom rules.
• Makes provisions to be available to students and parents outside instructional hours.
• Establishes relationships with colleagues, students, parents and community.
• Plans and supervises instructional assistants and volunteers.
• Evaluates paraprofessionals’ performance when needed.
• Maintains grading, attendance, and communication records as required.
