The Governor's Health Sciences Academy (GHSA) at Alexandria City High School, in partnership with The George Washington University-School of Medicine & Health Sciences (GW-SMHS), offers students the opportunity to pursue one of seven health-related pathways leading to industry certification. All courses are taught for dual enrollment credit through GW-SMHS, allowing students to graduate with 16-18 college credits. The Health and Medical Sciences teacher will develop students' academic and clinical skills through academic courses, implement, monitor, and evaluate a competency-based program using district-approved curriculum, and document student progress. The teacher will address students' educational needs, provide feedback to students, parents, and administration about progress, expectations, and goals, and collaborate with GW-SMHS colleagues to ensure college requirements are met.
This position reports to an Assistant Principal.
