GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job supports and enhances the activities of the practice by providing administrative and clinical support and coordinating daily operations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates and oversees clerical and clinical functions.
  • Performs clinical support duties such as preparing exam rooms, rooming patients, assisting healthcare providers during exams, procedures, testing, and administering injections.
  • Schedules patients for procedures, diagnostic testing, and office visits. Provides instructions and acts as liaison between physicians and patients. Maintains physician(s) calendars.
  • Screens and directs calls, responds to inquiries.
  • Supports front office tasks including registration, chart prep, insurance verification, precertification, and billing.
  • Orders and tracks inventory of clinical and operational items.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • May support satellite offices as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)
  • 2 years of clerical, insurance, and registration experience in a medical setting or equivalent education
  • CPR certification (American Heart Association)
  • Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 background clearances

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree
  • Medical Assistant program graduate
  • Driver's license
