GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job supports and enhances the activities of the practice by providing administrative and clinical support and coordinating daily operations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Coordinates and oversees clerical and clinical functions.
  2. Performs clinical support duties, including preparing exam rooms, rooming patients, assisting healthcare providers during exams, procedures, testing, and administering injections.
  3. Schedules patients for procedures, diagnostic testing, and office visits; provides instructions and acts as a liaison between physicians and patients; maintains physicians' calendars.
  4. Screens and directs telephone calls, responds to inquiries, and takes appropriate actions.
  5. Supports front office functions such as registration, chart preparation, insurance verification, precertification, and billing.
  6. Orders and tracks inventory of operational and clinical items.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
  8. May travel to satellite locations to support physicians as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (e.g., NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)
  • At least 2 years of clerical support, insurance verification, and registration experience in a medical setting or equivalent education.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance.

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree.
  • Medical Assistant program graduate.
  • Driver's license.
