Job summary

The Educational Service Center of Central Ohio invites applications for the Health Lab Coordinator (Long Term Substitute) role. This position supports students through SEL, trauma-informed practices, and de-escalation strategies within the school setting.

The coordinator collaborates with teachers, families, and MTSS teams to design individualized Success Plans, monitor progress, and maintain safe, supportive learning environments while aligning with district expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid Ohio Certification/Licensure.
• Three+ years teaching or related experience.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and observation skills.
• Ability to implement evidence-based health, SEL, and trauma-informed practices.
• Training in de-escalation and safety strategies.

Responsibilities

• Teach and integrate SEL skills into instruction.
• Adapt instruction to meet student needs with individual/small-group remediation.
• Develop standards for critical thinking and wellness decision-making.
• Select and manage instructional materials suitable for students.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior for a safe environment.
• Provide SEL-based support for students individually and in groups.
• Develop and monitor individualized Success Plans.
• Collaborate with MTSS and school teams to coordinate interventions.
• Assist staff in implementing strategies that promote student regulation and resilience.
• Support student interpretation of assessment data for academic and wellness decisions.
• Guide student participation in school and community activities.
• Maintain confidential records and communicate progress with families.
