Job summary

Wallace State Community College in Alabama invites applications for an Instructor position. The successful candidate will teach courses in health information technology, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in departmental and college planning to support student success.

The role requires an associate degree in health information technology (bachelor's preferred), RHIT or RHIA certification, and proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding, plus at least two years in HIM

Qualifications

• Associate degree in health information technology required; a bachelor’s degree preferred.
• RHIT or RHIA certification required; additional medical coding certification preferred.
• Minimum of two years of HIM management and data analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and maintain a high level of competence and expertise in the teaching field or subject area.
• Develop, implement, and teach courses designed to meet individual student needs and ensure an effective learning experience.
• Evaluate and record student performance promptly and provide feedback to students and administration to ensure learning outcomes.
• Participate as a contributing faculty member in planning long-range and short-term goals for the department and College; attend regular meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned; College reserves right to alter or reassign duties as necessary.
• Attendance is an essential job function.
