The role involves outreach across service areas, data entry into ENGAGE, and bilingual communication. This position requires a High School diploma, 2+ years in a related field, and CORI/SORI completed within 30 days.

Qualifications

  • High School degree required.
  • Post-secondary training or experience in human services, business, or technology desirable, with at least two years in a related field.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish with strong communication, oral and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with maintaining a database.
  • Committed to providing effective client services with self-initiative.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume office with diverse clientele.
  • CORI & SORI to be completed within the first 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with outreach and enrollment activities in a variety of settings throughout GLCAC Inc. service areas.
  • Provide outreach information to agency staff to maximize outreach and avoid duplication of services.
  • Maintain computerized records of all outreach and enrollment activities.
  • Enter data into the ENGAGE database.
  • Assist clients to prepare and submit applications for new health insurance requirements.
  • Track progress of clients and follow up to maximize enrollments.
  • Attend required training sessions/meetings.
  • Work with the Program Coordinator to submit reports required to the agency and funding source.
  • Collaborate with CSC staff to improve client services as per project.
  • Guide clients to complete health insurance applications and assist with enrollment and related issues.
  • Provide information on federal income guidelines and qualifications and services.
  • Maintain statistical records reflecting up-to-date information on individuals and families seeking services.
  • Provide accurate information via phone, fax, mail, or e-mail.
  • Flexible schedule including some evenings/weekends.
  • Travel to outreach events and service sites as needed.

Job Summary

The Intake/Outreach position will be assisting individuals and families to apply and recertify for health insurance. In addition, you will help the clients choose the appropriate health plans for the family.

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with outreach and enrollment activities in a variety of settings throughout GLCAC Inc. service areas
  • Provides outreach information for agency staff of the GLCAC, Inc. to maximize outreach activities with the staff and to avoid duplication of services
  • Maintains computerized records of all outreach and enrollment activities
  • Enters data into the agency’s ENGAGE database
  • Assists clients to prepare and submit applications for new health insurance requirements.
  • Tracks progress of clients and their applications and follow-up to maximize the number of clients that successfully obtain accurate health insurance
  • Attends any required training sessions/meetings.
  • Works with the Program Coordinator to submit reports required to the agency and the funding source.
  • Works closely with other CSC Staff to continuously look for ways to improve client services as per project.
  • Guides clients to complete applications for health insurance-related issues.
  • Assists clients with services for participation in enrollment and referral health-related issues
  • Provides information on federal income guidelines and qualifications and a general understanding of GLCAC, Inc. services.
  • Maintains statistical records to reflect up-to-date information on individuals and families seeking services
  • Provides information by answering questions and requests
  • Update application of any additional information needed in a timely manner as necessary
  • Provide accurate and quality customer service and information for all inquiries via phone, fax, mail, or e-mail
  • Additional duties as requested based on program needs
  • Flexible schedule is required to meet the needs of the program; including some evenings/weekends
Skills And Qualifications
  • High School degree required
  • Post-secondary training/education/work experience in human services, business, or technology desirable, and a minimum of two years of work experience in a related field
  • Must be bilingual (English / Spanish) with great communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and familiar with maintaining a database.
  • Must be committed to providing effective client/customer services and demonstrate self-initiative
  • Ability to interact with a highly diversified clientele and be able to work in a high-volume office
  • Relevant experience in the areas of outreach and enrollment and in working with clients from varying cultural/ ethnic backgrounds
  • Must have a suitable CORI & SORI completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment

Travel

Yes; must have reliable transportation to all sites and service areas, including traveling to outreach events in greater Lawrence, Lowell, and Haverhill and providing direct services in the Lawrence, Lowell, and Haverhill office sites.

Physical Demands

This job regularly requires the employee to sit, walk and stand as well as use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
