-AltaPointe Recruitment Team The Health Information Management role focuses on organizing and maintaining health information systems, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and coordinating the release of information across departments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with RHIT credential and at least 2 years of HIM management experience.
• Coding credentials (CCS, CCS-P, CPC) preferred.
• Knowledge of health information systems and HIPAA requirements.
• Familiarity with DMH/JCAHO/Medicaid standards and release of information processes.

Responsibilities

• Organize, coordinate, and maintain health information systems across the primary care continuum.
• Ensure compliance with health information privacy laws and update HIM team accordingly.
• Coordinate release of protected health information with staff and legal entities.
• Ensure medical record audits are completed monthly and reported.
• Coordinate dictation and transcription activities when needed.
• Collaborate with Finance to ensure revenue cycle is not interrupted by coding or delayed records.
• Oversee administrative review to meet DMH standards.
• Provide training on policy updates to AHS staff.
