Job summary

County of Riverside seeks an Assistant Medical Records Manager to support Riverside University Health System’s Medical Records unit. The role helps organize and oversee Health Information Management operations, including Release of Information, chart analysis, and document integrity, within a clinically integrated network.

The position requires RHIA/RHIT certification or equivalent, a Bachelor’s or Master’s in HIM, and a California driver's license; travel to the Medical Center or Arlington

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Health Information Management (HIM) required.
• RHIA or RHIT certification required.
• CA driver license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organization, coordination, and direction of HIM functions including Release of Information and Chart Analysis.
• Review, revise, and develop policies; implement training for efficient workflows.
• Evaluate staff performance and monitor progress toward dept. goals.
• Provide technical guidance to staff in complex situations.
• Respond to insurance claims, legal requests, and chart inquiries.
• Serve as liaison with hospital and county departments to ensure timely information exchange.
• Analyze data and prepare detailed statistical and operational reports.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Information Management (HIM)

RHIA or RHIT certification

California Driver License
