Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking an entry-level Medical Records/Health Information Management Specialist to work on-site at the facility. The role involves analyzing and completing records, following up for missing documentation, and maintaining charting deficiencies in the EMR system.

Certification via CRCR is required within 9 months, company-paid, with a strong emphasis on innovation and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of CMS and Joint Commission regulations preferred.
• EMR experience preferred.
• Healthcare Revenue Cycle experience preferred (Acute care facility HIM experience).
• Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and reduce friction.

Responsibilities

• Completes analysis/reanalysis of all records accurately and timely.
• Follows up with ancillary/nursing departments for missing documentation.
• Follows up with providers regarding missing documentation/dictation to allow coding.
• Updates unbilled spreadsheet and forwards to management.
• Reviews medical record documentation in EMR and creates charting deficiencies in the deficiency management system.
• Manages analysis work queues to ensure timely chart completion.
• Adheres to policies and workflows to route accounts to appropriate queues.
• Identifies systemic problems and Escalates to facility Manager for resolution.
• Documents workflows and changes to processes implemented or enhanced.
