Job summary

Montgomery College’s Allied Health Sciences Department seeks two full-time Health Information Management faculty members to begin January 2027. The roles involve teaching HIM courses across multiple formats (face-to-face, online, hybrid) at various campuses and online.

Candidates should have a Master’s in HIM or related field, RHIT/RHIA, and at least two years of HIM experience. Responsibilities include program evaluation, curriculum design, outcomes assessment, and active service on committees,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Health Information Management or related field required.
• RHIT or RHIA certification required.
• Two years of professional experience in health information management or related field.
• Experience integrating technology into course delivery using a Learning Management System and Zoom for synchronous remote delivery.
• Commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in education/work environment.
• Effective collaboration with colleagues.
• Authorized to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of courses within the Health Information Management program.
• Teach 30 semester hours per academic year (mid-August through May).
• Participate in program evaluation, curriculum design, and outcomes assessment.
• Follow guidelines from program director to ensure content coverage across sections.
• Support the program director and clinical coordinator as needed.
• Engage in continuing education to maintain credentials and accreditation requirements.
• Serve on departmental/campus/college committees, hold office hours, advise students, and pursue professional development.
• May be assigned non-instructional duties in lieu of teaching.
