The Center for the Study of Human Health (CSHH) at Emory University seeks an Assistant Teaching Professor in Health, Wellbeing and Humanities to begin Fall 2027. The role supports a BA in Human Health and related programs, with a teaching load of five courses per academic year and scholarship in health humanities.

We welcome applicants who demonstrate evidence-based exploration of health through humanities and who can mentor students outside the classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching undergraduate courses in health-related humanities.
• Ability to evaluate the human experience of health using historical, social, cultural perspectives.
• Engage students through humanities-informed methods and mentoring outside class.

Responsibilities

• Teach five courses per academic year, including large lectures and small seminars.
• Mentor and advise students outside the classroom.
• Contribute to teaching program in bioethics, cross-cultural health perspectives, and health narratives.
