Job description

Health & Group Benefits Consultants are an integral part of the overall client management and client relationship function in Milliman's Employee Benefits Consulting practice. The successful candidate will have at least ten years of Health & Welfare consulting experience, with a strong working knowledge of benefits design, delivery, vendor management, and strategy. Hands-on experience in leave management and disability insurance is a significant plus. This full-time, remote position supports consulting projects and maintains existing and new client relationships, primarily focusing on the corporate employee benefits market.

What You Will Do
  1. Support health & group benefit consulting and manage large, complex client projects.
  2. Provide senior-level consulting on plan design, benefit strategy, and vendor management.
  3. Manage marketing and vendor search processes across various coverage lines.
  4. Build and strengthen relationships with clients, prospects, and market stakeholders.
  5. Develop opportunities for selling or cross-selling consulting services.
  6. Track activity and project results according to Milliman protocols.
  7. Maintain relationships with internal consultants and external vendors.
  8. Participate in marketing presentations to prospects.
What We Are Looking For
  • Minimum ten years of Health & Welfare consulting experience, including disability and leave management.
  • Preferred: health and life insurance producer licenses.
  • Experience working with actuaries required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Proven success in health & welfare consulting services.
  • Knowledge of legislation, market trends, and regulatory issues.
  • Understanding of marketing/vendor search processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various insurance coverages and self-insurance concepts.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present complex topics.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks like COBRA and 5500 filings.
  • Effective time management and independent work skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and in team environments.

Compensation

Salary ranges vary by location, from $147,400 to $291,840, considering factors like experience and qualifications.
