The University of Idaho's Department of Earth and Spatial Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Geography with expertise in health geography and GIScience, to begin August 16, 2027. The candidate will use GIS, remote sensing, spatial epidemiology, and quantitative modelling to examine geographic health patterns and disparities.

Responsibilities include teaching, mentoring, publishing, presenting, and securing external funding, plus service and interdisciplinary

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Geography or a related field by hire.
• Experience teaching graduate and undergraduate courses.
• Expertise in health geography and GIScience demonstrated through research.
• Ability to develop an externally funded research program.

Responsabilités

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in geography and GIS.
• Mentor students and publish peer‑reviewed research.
• Present findings at professional conferences.
• Pursue external funding and contribute to service and collaborations.
