Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s Optum Health Finance team seeks a Senior Financial Consultant to lead forecasting, long-range modeling, earnings, and close activities. You will partner with FP&A, controllership, and corporate teams to guide strategic financial decisions.

The role emphasizes data interpretation, actionable insights, and strong communication to senior leadership, with a four-in-office-day schedule for MN-based candidates.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting.
• Demonstrated Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Essbase and / or SmartView experience.
• Microsoft Office experience.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate forecast and long-range models with stakeholders for Optum Health.
• Prepare executive-level presentations and Excel materials for leadership.
• Act as SME on ledger capabilities; recommend ledger enhancements for business needs.
• Own and produce all forecast, long-range model, earnings, and close data packs.
• Serve as the financial reporting conduit between data management and FP&A consolidation.
• Partner with VBC and SG&A teams to streamline VBC vs FFS reporting.
• Drive process improvements using AI and other data tools.
• Communicate effectively to build relationships with business stakeholders.
