Job summary

Vista Community Clinic in Vista, CA is seeking a community education professional to provide information, education and referrals to target populations. The role requires bilingual English/Spanish and reliable transportation for meetings and reporting.

You will work with program staff and community partners, assist in data collection, materials development, and reporting, and help recruit participants while advancing our mission to deliver accessible, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in community education.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Experience with data collection, reporting, and outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information, education, and referrals to target populations as required by program.
  • Coordinate with program staff and community partners.
  • Assist in data collection, evaluation, and program reports.
  • Develop educational materials and outreach flyers.
  • Attend meetings and support program growth and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct information, education, and referrals to individuals and groups in target population as required by program and/or as directed by Supervisor.
  • Work with other program staff, VCC staff and community partners.
  • Provide group and individual information, education, and referrals to target population, in accordance with program guidelines and/or as directed by Supervisor
  • Assist in recruiting groups and individuals for participation in program
  • Assist in data collection, data entry, evaluation and program reports
  • Assist in the development of a wide range of materials, such as educational curriculum, flyers and news releases
  • Compile and submit/present oral and written reports
  • Attend meetings, as needed
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature review, in-service meetings and workshops
  • Support the vision, mission and goals, and demonstrate a commitment to the values, of the organization
  • Perform other duties as directed
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in community education
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance; reliable transportation, to travel for meetings and/or to gather information for reporting purposes; minimum two years’ driving experience; no more than 2 violations or a single ticket/accident value at more than 1 point on driving record
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

  • Ability to track and manage time effectively; highly organized
  • Ability to handle confidential materials and information in a professional manner
  • Ability and willingness to provide outreach throughout targeted areas including on the street, door-to-door, in retail outlets, businesses and other venues as needed
  • Effective verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients, clinicians and other staff
  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner, including people of all social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and within the constraints of government funded programs
  • Ability and willingness to meet the organization’s attendance and dress code policies
  • Experience/familiarity with computers, business e-mail, communication systems and internet search capabilities and proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel

Pay Range

  • $21.00 - $23.00 Depending On Experience
