Job summary

The Tuscarawas County Health Department seeks Health Educator I or II to plan, implement, and evaluate health education initiatives through a health equity lens. Role involves collaborating with community partners to identify needs, set goals, and drive impactful public health interventions.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field; CHES certification and grant-writing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Health Promotion, Community Health, School Health Education, Health Studies, Nutrition, Health Behavior, Public Health or Nursing or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Public Health or related field plus 2 years working; experience in health education or community health -or; A bachelor’s degree plus 5 years’ experience in health education or community health at a health department.
• Preferred qualifications include: Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)
• Experience with grant writing and implementation

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates health education programs for the Tuscarawas County Health Department.
• Collaborates with other community agencies to ascertain health needs and develops goals.
• Develops and maintains cooperation between public, civic, professional, and volunteer agencies.
