Job summary

Flint Community Schools seeks a Health Education Teacher to design, implement, and assess health instruction aligned with district objectives. The role focuses on promoting physical fitness, health education, and student well-being while collaborating with staff and families.

The teacher will assess progress, participate in wellness initiatives, and maintain accurate records under the Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Health endorsement. This is a full-time, 186-day position.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate required.
• Health endorsement (MX, MC, MA, or KH) required.

Responsibilities

• Establishes a classroom environment that fosters student engagement and success using varied teaching strategies.
• Designs and delivers well-structured lessons aligned with district standards and student needs.
• Maintains high expectations for achievement, behavior and participation.
• Collaborates with parents and administration to support student progress and wellness initiatives.
• Monitors student progress and adjusts instruction to meet individual learning needs.
• Maintains confidentiality and completes records as directed by the building principal.
