Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience in health sciences or IT
• 5+ years in health IT, data analytics, BI, or related area
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational databases (SQL Server/Oracle)
• In-depth understanding of health care data types (encounter, claims, membership, provider, pharmacy, quality)
• Knowledge of CMS/NCQA/CA DM/CA DOH reporting requirements
• Experience with data warehouses, data marts, and dimensional models
• Ability to translate business needs into reports, dashboards, and BI objects
• Strong analytical, validation, testing, and QA skills
• Experience documenting requirements and cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to manage competing priorities and timelines
• Experience training users and creating documentation across functions

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate, and maintain analyses and BI solutions
• Translate business requirements into data queries and specs
• Analyze encounter, claims, membership, provider, pharmacy, and quality data
• Collaborate with IS, Health Outcomes, pharmacy, quality, and other stakeholders on reporting
• Support data governance, testing, and transition of reporting to production
• Serve as a BI resource across the department
• Support healthcare measures and benchmarks used by CMS, CDHS, NCQA, CDC, and others
