POSITION SPECIFICS
ROLE SUMMARY

Industrial Medical Assistants (IMA) perform tests and assessments under the direction of RMI's Corporate Medical Director and designees. They support RMI clients by conducting assessments and testing, maintaining high standards of professionalism. IMAs help foster long-term relationships with clients through the professional delivery of services in industrial, remote, and austere environments, adhering to the Nurse Practices Act, care standards, regulations, accreditation standards, and RMI policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform occupational health testing and assessments according to current training, protocols, and scope of practice.
  • Complete reporting requirements for RMI and clients as specified per project or client.
  • Maintain assessment center facilities per RMI and industry standards.
  • Represent RMI professionally at all times.
  • Maintain current professional certifications relevant to assigned projects.
  • Perform other duties as required.
TYPICAL DUTIES
  • Review health questionnaires for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct various occupational health tests and assessments as directed.
  • Document test and assessment results accurately.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as scanning, transmitting, and disposing of PHI in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Ensure examination rooms are stocked and prepared for each patient contact.
  • Assist in orientation and training of new staff.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Current certification/license as a Medical Assistant, LPN, or LVN (state-dependent), or as a Paramedic.
  • At least 3 years or 4,160 hours of experience at the current license level.
  • Experience in healthcare settings such as primary, urgent, or occupational health.
COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
  • Current BLS, CPR with AED at the medical rescuer level.
  • Current state license in the relevant discipline.
  • Valid project-specific certifications, vaccinations, and travel documents.
PREFERRED (some projects may require):
  • Complete COVID-19 vaccination.
