Job summary

ACCESS is a Network of Federally Qualified Health Centers treating patients on the frontlines of community-based health care. The Health Center Manager oversees daily and strategic operations, ensuring the seamless coordination of clinical and administrative functions while maintaining high standards of patient care, efficiency, and compliance.

In partnership with the Lead Provider, this role drives operational success, financial stability, and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in healthcare administration or related field.
• 2-3 years of supervisory experience in healthcare, or 5+ years in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily and strategic health center operations, ensuring high standards of patient care.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, IDPH, and The Joint Commission standards and staff competency in patient safety.
• Identify clinical risks and ensure patient safety and operational efficiency.
• Oversee patient care, satisfaction, outcomes, and regular rounds to improve service.
• Track metrics to improve health center operations and accountability.
• Lead staff meetings and daily huddles for coordinated care delivery.
• Utilize EMR analytics to improve workflows and align operations with patient-centered care values.
• Develop business plans, financial strategies, and process improvements for long-term success.
• Investigate staff concerns and patient compliance issues with fair resolutions.

Position Summary

The Health Center Manager oversees daily and strategic operations, ensuring the seamless coordination integration of clinical and administrative functions while maintaining high standards of patient care, efficiency, and compliance. In partnership with the Lead Provider, this role drives operational success, financial stability, and service excellence. Leading a diverse healthcare team, the manager fosters a culture of innovation, excellence, and compassionate care to meet community needs and exceed performance expectations.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Ensure team members understand their roles and deliver high quality, coordinated care.
• Maintains OSHA, IDPH, and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards while ensuring staff competency in patient safety.
• Identifies and addresses clinical risks, ensuring patient safety and operational efficiency.
• Oversee patient care, satisfaction, and outcomes, making regular rounds to enhance service.
• Track key metrics and performance indicators to improve health center operations and accountability.
• Leads staff meetings and daily huddles, ensuring smooth coordination and care delivery.
• Utilizes EMR analytics to improve workflows and aligns operations with patient-centered care values.
• Develop business plans, financial strategies, and process improvements to ensure long‑term success.
• Investigate staff concerns and patient compliance issues, promoting fair and effective resolutions.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support health equity initiatives.

Requirements/Preferences

• Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field, plus 2-3 years of supervisory/team lead experience in a healthcare setting, or 5+ years of supervisory/team lead experience in healthcare.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Working Conditions/Equipment

• Requires local travel between clinical/health centers, hospitals, and community sites. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required when using a personal vehicle.

The pay ranges provided represent the minimum to mid-range for positions. Actual compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors including years of experience, educational background, marketconditions, and available grant funding.
