NC Office of State Human Resources is hiring a Health Care Technician I for a temporary position in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Job description

Job Title

Health Care Technician I (S) – Temporary position (Grade MH01) – Location: Goldsboro, Wayne County, NC

Responsibilities
  • Primarily responsible for providing direct care and person-centered supports to residents with complex physical, intellectual, medical, and behavioral needs.
  • Complete Nursing Assistant assignments while maintaining optimal gross and fine motor skills, ensuring activities of daily living such as mealtime, dressing, bathing, and grooming while supporting the highest level of practicable independence.
  • Ensure all health and safety needs are met for assigned residents per regulatory guidelines and maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA.
  • Work schedules that include weekends, holidays, and mandatory reporting during inclement weather due to 24-hour service.
Shift Premiums
  • Day Shift: Saturday and Sunday 5%
  • Evening Shift: Monday-Friday 10%; Saturday and Sunday 15%
  • Night Shift: Monday-Thursday 10%; Friday-Sunday 15%
Qualifications
  • Certified as a Nursing Assistant and listed in good standing with the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in nursing care techniques.
  • Ability to communicate observations and recommendations effectively and accurately in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to communicate in a respectful manner to residents, family or guardians, co-workers, and others.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor in work relationships.
  • Ability to learn behavior management interventions and support counseling relationships.
Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special conditions for continued employment include listing as a Nurse Aide I or II as required and North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification as applicable.

Hourly Pay

Hourly Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 based on education and years of relevant experience.

Additional Requirements

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) are required upon employment. This position is mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
