Job Summary

Under the guidance and direction of the Licensed School Nurse, the Health Assistant is responsible for providing first aid and health care to students attending Big Lake High School; documenting and maintaining healthcare records and services taken within the building; providing medications to students in accordance with set policies and authorization from physicians; consults with parents, staff, students and others concerning problems or health care issues; prepares reports required of the building, district or state regarding health actions and activities.

Qualifications

A combination of education, experience, and training necessary to perform the requirements of the work. Pediatric experience is preferred.

License Requirements

No license is required but additional consideration will be given to candidates who are licensed by the State of MN as a Practical Nurse. Upon hiring the District may require the completion of various certifications while on-the-job such as CPR certification, Blood-borne Pathogen Training, and First Aid Training.

Working Conditions

Monday through Friday; Hours 8:00-3:30
