Job description

Summary

This role will include assisting in the implementation of corporate health and safety programs, procedures, and policies by providing continuous auditing and quality assessment. You will be accountable for safe working practices, training, evaluations, and compliance monitoring; ultimately resulting in effectively reducing risks, developing increased safety awareness, and managing. This position will require working closely with Regional and Base Managers to ensure compliance of corporate safety initiatives, and relaying information to the Corporate Head Office.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists in the development, coordination of quality procedures, and improvement of safety programs
• Actively participates in the Safety Management System (SMS)
• Participates in development and execution of safety orientation training
• Assists base operations with continuous improvement through the application of quality and safety management principles
• Reviews comprehensive corrective action plans and performs follow-up as necessary
• Risk mitigation and corrective action plan development
• Update and modify audit checklists, as required
• Assists in the development and implementation of quality and safety audit training
• Ensures all worker certifications are current
• Ensures all HS&E reporting required from each base is up to date
• Ensure all corrective actions put in place by local station managers are implemented
• Coordination and oversight of aircraft turnaround activities
• Ensure that processes are delivered within SLA standards and compliance limits while adhering to safety requirements
• Responsible for the safety and security of all employees
• Maintain Quality Assurance oversight for operational issues relating to output and safety, providing suitable corrective and/or preventative actions where necessary
• Ensure staff have access to the Quality Management System information in enabling them to comply with company policies, processes, and procedures
• Ensure employees are adequately trained in Quality Assurance to understand, implement, and maintain all quality objectives as outlined within our Quality Management System.
• Cooperate fully with Inspectors to achieve quality inspection commitments

Qualifications

• Catering/Airline operational experience preferred
• Canadian CRSP designation or equivalent
• Demonstrated knowledge of safety in the workplace, including safety requirements and reporting methods as per Provincial and Federal Labour Standards
• Demonstrated experience in various instruction methods
• Proficient in PC based applications; Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
