Job summary

The role involves overseeing on-site safety, coordinating training, and leading response to emergencies in varied weather conditions, with a focus on promoting a positive safety culture.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of progressively responsible and related experience in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of First Aid, Confined Space, Fall Protection; DISA standards.
• Valid Driver's License; TWIC; CSST certification.
• Strong knowledge of regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority by complying with safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Conduct health and safety inspections, audits, interventions, and manage permits and paperwork.
• Manage employee safety training programs and coordination.
• Oversee job hazard analyses and safety equipment inspection and testing.
• Provide leadership on Clean Harbors processes and expectations.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents and manage injury follow-up and reporting.
• Coach and supervise teams to enhance safety performance.
• Build relationships with client safety departments.
• Direct personnel in operational procedures to complete assignments.
• Inspect work areas and equipment to identify compliance issues.
• Document safety inspections and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Health and Safety Supervisor inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state and federal safety policies and regulations; Oversees ongoing work sites to ensure personnel comply with company and client safety requirement along with promoting a positive safety culture; Emergency response, and site remediation while working in all types of weather conditions. Transitioning Military, this is a great opportunity to leverage your skills and training as you return to civilian life.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Conduct health and safety inspections, audits and interventions, investigate, oversee, and observe safety conditions and manage safety permits and required paperwork;
• Manage employee safety training programs and coordination;
• JLA's (job loss analysis), JHA's (job hazard analysis) and manage safety equipment inspection, testing and supply;
• Provide leadership and guidance on Clean Harbors specific processes and expectations;
• Respond to emergencies and incidents and manage injury and accident follow-up and reporting;
• Coach, manage and supervise teams to further enhance their safety responsibility and performance;
• Establish relationships with client safety department;
• Demonstrate proficiency at a wide variety of assignments and can direct personnel in operational procedures to complete assignments;
• Inspects assigned work areas and equipment to identify compliance issues;
• Documents safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures/practices; Recommends corrective actions;
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of progressively responsible and related experience in an industrial setting;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Knowledge of the following is preferred: First Aid, Confined Space and Fall Protection, and DISA standards;
• Valid Driver's License;
• Must have a Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC);
• Must have Construction Site Safety Tech certification (CSST);
• Strong knowledge of regulations.
