Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Develops, plans, and implements goals for each student.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a gym and classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the students.
• Participates in planning and implementing specific behavior interventions.
• Works with classroom teachers and related services in planning an effective physical education program.
• Assesses the learning, social, and emotional needs and styles of students.
• Evaluates pupils' growth in physical education-related knowledge and skills, maintains records, and summarizes these for IEPs.
• Provides safety instruction and checks equipment for safety.
• Assumes responsibility for proper use and storage of physical education equipment.
• Conduct health classes for all students.

Duties:

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Develops, plans, and implements goals for each student.
• Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a gym and classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Participates in planning and implementing of specific behavior interventions.
• Works cooperatively with classroom teachers and related services in planning an effective, comprehensive physical education program.
• Assesses the learning, social, and emotional needs and styles of students.
• Evaluates each pupil's growth in physical education-related knowledge and skills, maintains records of pupils' progress and summarizes these marks for reporting purposes and writing summaries in student Individual Education Plans (IEP's).
• Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment to ensure the overall safety of pupils.
• Assumes responsibility for proper use and storage of physical education equipment.
• Conduct health classes for all students
