Job summary

Samsung Research America’s Digital Health Algorithms Team seeks a Health AI Scholar for a 12-month residency starting January 2027. Ideal for a PhD student in 3rd year or above, or a postdoc with health AI research in multi-modal time-series areas.

You will join a diverse team applying cutting-edge AI to health challenges. Work includes designing AI models, handling large-scale data, and leveraging AWS services for scalable health analytics and biomarkers discovery.

Qualifications

• PhD near completion or postdoctoral experience in CS, AI, ML, or related.
• Strong expertise in deep learning techniques and time-series data.
• Experience deploying models with AWS AI services (SageMaker/Redshift).
• Publication track record in AI/health fields.
• Proficient in Python, R, Java, Android, C/C++.
• Collaborative, multidisciplinary teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize advanced AI models for health.
• Work with large-scale time-series and tabular data to extract insights.
• Build frameworks for discovering health biomarkers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insights into health solutions.
• Train and fine-tune models using AWS services for scalable deployment.
• Contribute to new AI methodologies for healthcare challenges.
• Engage actively in team discussions and inclusive culture.
