Job summary

Samsung Research America’s Digital Health Algorithms Team seeks a Health AI Scholar for a 10-month residency starting January 2027. The role focuses on multi-modal physiological time-series AI, including self-supervised learning, with opportunities to work on digital biomarkers and interventions.

You will co-develop AI methods, leverage AWS SageMaker for scalable modeling, and collaborate with clinicians and researchers to translate AI insights into healthcare solutions.

Qualifications

• PhD (near completion) or postdoctoral experience in CS, AI, ML, biomedical engineering, or related field.
• Strong expertise in deep learning techniques (self-supervised learning, transformers, CNNs, RNNs).
• Experience with time-series data, preferably health-related.
• Proficiency with AWS AI services including SageMaker and Redshift.
• Peer-reviewed publications in AI/health journals or conferences.
• Programming in Python, R, Android, C/C++, Java.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize advanced AI models for health applications.
• Work with large-scale time-series datasets to extract insights.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate AI insights into healthcare solutions.
• Train and fine-tune deep learning models using AWS AI services for scalability.
• Contribute to development of novel AI methodologies for health challenges.
• Engage in team discussions and foster collaboration.
