Job summary

Boston Scally is seeking a Level II Sr. Designer to lead headwear concepts from concept through production, shaping seasonal collections and collaborations.

You’ll partner with Product Development, Merchandising, Marketing, and manufacturing to turn bold ideas into wearable stories of Boston culture. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in design, a strong portfolio, hands-on experience taking softgoods from concept to production, and proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of progressive design experience in apparel/headwear or related
• Strong portfolio showcasing design range and attention to detail
• Hands-on experience taking softgoods from concept through production
• Proficiency in materials, construction, trims, embroidery and related techniques
• Experience using AI tools for research, ideation, and image generation
• Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Develop original headwear concepts that push the product forward
• Translate trends and consumer insights into commercially relevant designs
• Create sketches, renderings, technical drawings, graphics and colorways
• Explore materials, techniques, finishes, and decoration methods
• Own designs from research through production
• Collaborate with Product Development and manufacturers on cost and quality
• Set seasonal design direction with a strong creative POV
• Present concepts and incorporate feedback from cross-functional teams
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-moving environment
• Stay updated on emerging design tools, including AI workflows
