The Role

Weld metal parts together to fabricate or repair products by performing the following duties:

• Weld metal parts using MIG, stick welding, or a combination of both arc welding processes to fabricate or repair headers or header subassemblies.
• Understand and interpret drawings, weld symbols, and weld procedures.
• Operate pneumatic or electric grinders.
• Remove metal with carbon arc gouging equipment and/or plasma gouging equipment.
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
• Maintain production records of parts and jobs fabricated as required by the Department Manager.
• Position pieces with overhead or jib cranes.
• Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work on-site, including overtime.
• Work cooperatively with others and deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, employees, managers, and executives.
• Perform multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to departmental needs.

Competency or Position Requirements (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to use and interpret tape measures.

Education and Experience (required)

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) welding test. Testing procedures and positions are subject to change and are provided as required.
